Thomas H. Minkoff

Incumbent Sixth Circuit Court Judge Tommy Minkoff is in his 8th year as a Circuit Judge currently serving in a General Civil Division. His Division includes jury trials for medical malpractice, negligence, contract cases and non-jury trials for predominately foreclosure cases. In addition to serving in a General Civil Division, Judge Minkoff has served in a Family Court Division and a Foreclosure Court Division. Judge Minkoff has participated as an instructor for the College of Advanced Judicial Studies that provides continuing education for other judges.

Judge Minkoff graduated from Rutgers College and St. Mary’s University College of Law and is a member of the Texas (inactive) and Florida Bar Associations. Judge Minkoff is a member of the Clearwater Bar Association, the St. Petersburg Bar Association and is a graduate of Leadership Florida Class of XXXVI.

Prior to being appointed to the Bench, Judge Minkoff was a business owner and operator of a regional home health care company. After selling the company, Judge Minkoff developed several real estate projects and was of-counsel with a local law firm and served as Interim City Attorney for Gulfport.

Judge Minkoff has been President of both Canakaris and Barney Masterson Inns of Court, and is a charter member of the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation. Leading up to his appointment to the Bench, Judge Minkoff was a constant volunteer at Gulfcoast Legal Services, performing pro bono legal services for victims of domestic violence.
